A failing sewer line is disruptive, expensive and usually older than the people living above it. Backups, odours and wet ground in the yard are the symptoms; aging clay or cast iron, root intrusion and ground movement are almost always the cause.
Done Rite Services replaces sewer lines throughout Tucson, including trenchless replacement that leaves driveways and landscaping intact. We look inside the line first, and we will tell you when a repair would do instead.

Replacing a sewer line is the largest plumbing job most homes ever need, and it is worth being certain it is the right one. Plenty of lines that get quoted for replacement need a repair at one point, or a liner, and the only way to know is to look inside first.
When a line genuinely has reached the end, we replace it in modern pipe that will outlast the rest of the plumbing in the house. We will show you the footage that led to the recommendation before anything is quoted.

Age and material account for most of it. Clay was standard here for decades and fails at the joints, which is exactly where roots find their way in. Cast iron corrodes from the inside until the bore has narrowed to a fraction of what it was. Neither was ever going to last indefinitely, and a great many Tucson homes are now past the point where they were expected to.
Ground movement finishes the job. Soil that swells and shrinks through wet and dry seasons works on rigid joints until sections shift out of line, and a line that has lost its fall now holds water instead of draining. That standing section is where the next blockage forms.

Relining pulls an epoxy liner through the existing pipe and cures it in place, creating a new jointless pipe inside the old one. It suits a line that is structurally sound but cracked, corroded or letting roots in at the joints, and it needs no significant excavation.
Replacement is the answer when the host pipe cannot carry a liner: a collapsed section, pipe that has separated at a joint, or a line that has lost its fall and will keep holding water whatever is put inside it. Relining a pipe with no fall preserves the problem. We tell you which one you have based on what the camera shows, not on which job is larger.

Pipe bursting replaces a line along its existing path without opening the ground between the two ends. A bursting head is drawn through the old pipe, breaking it outward into the surrounding soil while pulling the new pipe in behind it. Two access pits at either end replace a trench across the whole run.
It suits most residential runs and it is usually the cheaper option once restoration is counted, because a driveway, a mature tree or a patio that never gets opened does not need putting back. It is not universal: a line that has completely collapsed leaves nothing to guide the head through, and a run with sharp direction changes may need conventional excavation for part of its length.

Length and depth come first, since both decide how much work and how much material the job takes. After that it is method, and whether the site allows the trenchless option at all.
Restoration is the part people underestimate. A line under lawn is a very different proposition from one under a concrete driveway, a mature tree or a paved courtyard, and putting those surfaces back can rival the plumbing. Permits, soil conditions and access for equipment make up the rest. You get the full figure before anything starts, restoration included, rather than a plumbing price with the reinstatement arriving later.

Done right, the first time

Modern HDPE and PVC do not corrode, and the runs are jointless or heat-fused rather than relying on collars that roots can find.
The failure mode that took out the old line does not apply to the new one.

A line with correct fall and a smooth bore carries what it is given instead of holding it, which is what ends the cycle of annual clearing.
Repeat blockages are almost always the pipe rather than what is going into it.

Trenchless work leaves the ground between the access pits undisturbed, so established landscaping, driveways and hardscape stay exactly as they are.
Where the surface has to be opened, putting it back is part of the quoted job rather than a separate problem.

Nothing is quoted before the line has been seen. The camera establishes the material, the condition along the whole run and where the faults sit, and the locator marks their position and depth on the surface.
That survey is also what tells us whether trenchless is possible here, which is usually the single largest factor in the price.

The work is scheduled in advance so you know when we arrive and how long the drains will be out of use. Most residential replacements are done in one to three days, and we tell you which before we start.
Our technicians are licensed, bonded and insured. We protect the work area, keep access clear where we can, and clean up behind ourselves each day rather than at the end.

Before anything is covered, the new line is tested and the fall is confirmed along its length. Backfill is compacted in layers, because ground that settles later takes the fall of the new pipe with it.
Then the surface goes back, and we run the camera through the finished line so you can see what you have paid for.
Sewer Line Replacement shouldn't wait for the perfect month. With flexible financing through our lending partners, you can get the work done today and spread the cost into manageable monthly payments.
We are dedicated to providing great service, excellent workmanship, and quality products to keep our customers happy.

Loved on Yelp, Google, NextDoor, and Angi across Southern Arizona.
“After numerous quotes and inspections, I decided to contract with Done Rite for a new HVAC system on my 114 year old house, which never had a central air conditioning system, only evaporative cooling. I was a bit nervous about drilling holes through plaster and lath ceilings to accommodate new vents and returns. From start to finish, these guys were amazing! This was not a cookie cutter project and they handled it with ease. Big shout out to Marcos and Brandon, etc., and to Jordan for taking the time to explain and suggest a superb system for my home.”
It depends on what the camera shows. A single break, a local root intrusion or a corroded stretch in an otherwise sound pipe is a repair or a liner. Replacement is for a line that has collapsed, separated at the joints, or lost its fall so that it holds water along the run. We show you the footage behind the recommendation before quoting.
It varies with length, depth, method and above all with what is on top of the line. A run under lawn is a very different job from one under a concrete driveway or a mature tree, because restoring that surface can rival the plumbing work. We quote the whole job including restoration, so the reinstatement is not a second bill later.
It replaces the line along its existing path from two access pits rather than a trench across the whole run. Driveways, patios, mature landscaping and irrigation stay untouched, the job is quicker, and once restoration is counted it is usually cheaper. It is not always possible: a fully collapsed line leaves nothing to guide the bursting head through.
Most residential replacements take one to three days. Trenchless runs are at the short end. Deep lines, difficult access, or surfaces that need significant reinstatement take longer. You get a timeline from the camera survey, before the work is booked, rather than a guess on the day.
Yes, and they are one of the most common causes here. Roots follow moisture and enter through hairline cracks and joints, then thicken inside the pipe until they block it or force the joint apart. Clay pipe is especially vulnerable because it has a joint every few feet. Caught early it is a cutting and lining job, left alone it becomes a replacement.
With trenchless, the ground between the two access pits is not opened at all, so landscaping and hardscape above the run stay as they are. Where conventional excavation is needed, restoration is part of the quoted job. We agree what goes back and to what standard before the work starts.
